Easy guide on how to recover photos from Samsung Galaxy Note 8
Step 1. Run the Samsung to Huawei transfer tool
Download, install and launch the Samsung to Huawei Transfer tool on your computer. When its primary window appears, connect your Samsung and Huawei phones to the computer via two USB cables.
Step 2. Choose the file types for transfer
The tool will automatically detect the two connected phones. All of the file types that can be transferred here (i.e. contacts, music, photos, videos, text messages, etc.) are also displayed.
Step 3. Transfer data from Samsung to Huawei
Select the data types you'd like to transfer from the Samsung phone, and then click the "Start Copy" button to do the task of moving files from Samsung to Huawei phone.
Step 1. Connect Samsung Galaxy to Computer (Enable USB Debugging)
If you sure the photos you want to restore are located in the external SD card, then there is no need for you to root your Samsung devices. Otherwise, you have to root your Samsung Galaxy so that the program can get access to your phone's internal flash card to scan the lost photos. After that, connect your Samsung Galaxy to computer and follow the below ways to open USB debugging:
1) For Android 2.3 or earlier: Enter "Settings" < Click "Applications" < Click "Development" < Check "USB debugging"
2) For Android 3.0 to 4.1: Enter "Settings" < Click "Developer options" < Check "USB debugging"
3) For Android 4.2 or newer: Enter "Settings" < Click "About Phone" < Tap "Build number" for several times until getting a note "You are under developer mode". Then you may back to "Settings" < Click "Developer options" < Check "USB debugging".
Step 2. Run the Program and Scan for Files
Launch the program on your computer and it will auto-detect the device that you've connected to the computer via USB cable. When the device is detected, the program will start scanning for files on your Samsung Galaxy immediately.
Step 3. Preview & Recovery
Click "Android UMS Com... " to expand the options in the left column, and then you can select the folder and preview all scanned photos in the right panel. Go through these pictures and find the one you need to restore, mark them. Then you can click "Recover" button to save them on your desktop computer.
Step 1. Connect Android phone to computer and run the software
Launch this Android data recovery app and connect your Galaxy S9 to this computer via a USB cable. To make it successfully detected by the computer, you need to enable USB debugging mode on Galaxy S9 beforehand.
Step 2. Select media file types to scan
Select the types of data you want to recover. If you only want to recover media data, you should tick off "Photos", "Videos", "Audio" and click "Next" button. Then, all media files on your Samsung S9 will be scanned out by the program.
Step 3. Preview and recover media files on Galaxy S9

Install and download Lab.Fone for Android on your PC or Mac. Launch it and you will see a new window asking you to connect your Android device. Just pick out a USB cable to connect your Huawei phone to the computer.
Tips: if you haven't enabled the USB debugging on your phone, the Android data recovery tool will be failed to detect your phone. Therefore, you have to follow the instructions below to open USB debugging on your phone.
For Android 2.3 or older, Go: "Settings" < Click "Applications" < Click "Development" < Check "USB debugging".
For Android 3.0 to 4.1: Enter "Settings" < Click "Developer options" < Check "USB debugging".

Step 2. Analyze and scan your phone memory
The program will automatically scan your Huawei smartphone for the lost files. After scanning, you will be able to preview found files in details. All recoverable files are displayed in categories on the left sidebar.
Step 3. Retrieve deleted messages from Huawei
Open the "Messages" folder and preview to select the text messages you want to recover. Then, click on the "Recover" button to restore all deleted SMS messages and save them on your computer.
