[Poll] Native Sailfish Applications
« on: November 19, 2013, 10:38:08 AM »
This poll is added by the request of users and has inspiration from ALI's Post  And will also use most of the suggestions on that post + More suggestions are welcomed.

Ground rule: We are only talking high priority, so please avoid the fart simulators ;D or wallpaper apps and calenders.

Note: some applications which we know that are/will be available will not be listed (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, HERE Maps, CuteTube for Watching and Downloading videos from YouTube, etc.)
- Games will not also be added because you can't have native Sailfish UI in a high graphical game like Asphalt or Football games as in you always have separate UI's for games no matter what you use as your default UI.
Jolla, Unlike.

Voting done. If you add more options later, will we be able to redo/modify our votes?

Whatsapp, Skype and Instagram. I don't need the official clients per se, 3rd party is also welcomed as long as it works without much hassle.

As from the other topic: Twitter would also be nice to have, but I don't need it per se because SailfishOS has Twitter built-in in the social feed (swipe up from the bottom bezel) so unless that proves to be suckish, I'm fine with that as long as it can post, reply, retweet and favorite.

maybe Opera should be added to the poll so we can show them our interest in it.

Great work James.. With this pole we will have enough priority apps and hope to get started with Jolla... Hey how about a Poll for the Other Half as well. I bet the QWERTY is going to be at the top..

I would add these:
XBMC remote
MPD client

These are on my priority list as well.

Have much interest in synctool with open protocol like carddav / caldav. This would be great to get my future phone talk to my owncloud server. Exchange to get my work agenda but this is not my priority actually.
SSH client could also be usefull

I would like to read and send pgp/gpg-emails. Maybe a mail-app with pgp-option or a separate pgp/gpg-app.

App.net client
Bitcoin client

XBMC remote
MPD client

Mail for exchange calendar, Contacts, mail, Todo sync
= this is an absolute must have, otherwise I may just use the old N9 until Mail for exchange works on Sailfish.

++ It would be a plus compared the N9 if you could search the mail from the server, as N9's mail for exchange searches from mails that are currently synced to the phone (which may be a very limited amount if you receive lots of mail).
